Hiking, day 12: Mardis Gras in Key West

Good times. Slept in a bit and enjoyed the sun by the pool in the morning before venturing out downtown:

A quick snap of one of the local churches on Duval Street.

The above two photos were shots from The Porch, one of the best craft brew pubs in Key West. Notice the Colorado beers making an appearance!

Fire dancer performing out in front of the cruise terminal in Mallory Square.

Didn't actually make it in to the Shipwreck Museum, but I loved the crow's nest on top!

Hiking, day 11: The Hemingway House

Day one in Key West: checked out a local winery, distillery, and brewery in the morning, then headed down to Ernest Hemingway's house.  Not gonna lie - I was mainly there for the cats.

Final Destination: Key West

We're spending a week and a half in the Florida Keys, so here's a few shots on our very long journey from Denver today:

A shot as we flew over the Mississippi River.

A shot as we flew over Tampa Bay.

We had a pretty long delay in Ft. Lauderdale, so here's a few shots as we left the metro area...

...and climbed above the clouds...

...and our first glimpse of a Florida Keys sunset.  But tomorrow is a new day!

Lunch break: Fort Collins, CO

I'm doing a large gig up in Fort Collins CO this week, so I haven't been able to hike over the last few days. But here's a quick pic of the downtown historic area outside the venue.

History.

Instead of hiking this weekend, I took the opportunity to borrow a friend's metal detector and search the yard of our historic house for buried treasure. I wasn't disappointed! While none of the coins were older than the'70's, I did find a sterling silver ring!

Hiking, day 10: Boulder, CO

Yesterday marked day ten of my 2017 hike count. I headed to one of my favorite spots in Boulder CO, but had to alter my plans a bit when I found the main trail was closed for repairs. Instead, I hiked around NCAR and over to Skunk Canyon.

(This last shot is from the office gathering we went to afterwards. Great view of Longmont!)

Hiking, day 9: Lyons, CO

Headed over to Heil Valley Ranch in Lyons CO today - finally saw an actual horse on the trail instead of just the, uh, evidence of one!

Hiking, day 8: Longmont, CO

I got so caught up in chatting with a friend that I forgot to take a photo until I got to the car. But no worries; it's going to be a great week for hiking in Colorado!

Hiking, day 7: Lyons, CO

Not gonna lie - headed out early today so that I could be back in time for the last two dachshund rounds of the Westminster Dog Show.  Today's hike: Hall Ranch in Lyons CO.

Hiking, day 6: Lyons, CO

The wind was insane yesterday! Boulder County was having wind gusts up to 65mph, so I just had to go out in it. After dodging tumbleweeds with my car, I made it to Rabbit Mountain in Lyons CO for an invigorating hike!

Hiking, day 4: Lyons, CO

Absolutely beautiful day at Hall Ranch. I've had a bit of a stressful week, but there's nothing like hiking to improve my mood. Also - still loving the automatic panorama function on my phone!

Hiking, day 3: Lyons, CO

Today my husband and I went to Hall Ranch in Lyons CO. On the way back, there was a brief rain cloud that the wind blew in front of us, leading to this great shot of a rainbow. If you look really closely, you can see my little car at the end of the rainbow. On closer inspection, there was unfortunately no pot of gold in my vehicle.
