Hiking, day 41: Sandstone Ranch
Now that my work schedule is changing, I'm hoping to get back to hiking more often! I hit up one of my usual trails this morning, but didn't stay long due to the diminished air quality from the forest fires on the west coast. To illustrate, here's a shot of what my view was today, compared to a photo from a few months ago:
Some old tagging in the rocks that I hadn't noticed before. I believe the date reads as 1944.
The butterflies seem to like these flowers, too. You can also see some of the fossils in the background.
I'm not sure what flowering bushes these are, but the honey bees love them!
