Denver Coin Expo

In continuation of my hobby, me and my coin collecting partner headed down to Denver today.  Wow!  So many good things, I barely remembered to take pictures. But here's at least one shot of some Celtic Ring Coins I found for sale, plus the new Year of the Dog silver round.

Hiking, day 46: Morrison, CO

I only had a few hours off in between work calls down in Denver, so I decided to go exploring in the foothills just west of my location.  I ate lunch in Morrison (just outside of Red Rocks Ampitheatre) and then took a quick hike on Dakota Ridge Trail.

View from the roof top bar in Morrison, looking up into the foothills.

Front Range Coin Show - Longmont, CO

Hit up the local coin show with a coin collecting buddy of mine.  Lots of fun things to find at this one!

I think my favorite vendor was the Canadian dealer - lots of beautiful coins on display!

Hiking, day 45: Portland, ME

Last day in Portland!  We explored more of the city in the afternoon before flying home.

On the way home, we had to divert south to avoid a storm, and I caught this quick shot of the lightening from the cold front as we were skirting it.  The photo really doesn't do it justice - I've never seen weather from this angle.

Hiking, day 44: Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum

Started off our day at the Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum, then hiked around town to various locations.

Hiking, day 43: Portland, ME

It still counts as hiking as long as you're walking to all of the breweries, right? Second day in Portland.

Hiking, day 42: Portland, ME

I hit the East Promenade Trail in the morning and headed up towards the beach, then spent most of the afternoon brewery hopping!

Our hotel is right across from the cruise ship terminal, so this big lady was in port.

When they said narrow gauge railroad, they meant it! Only two feet in between the two rails.

Portland is home to the Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum.  I'm planning on hitting up the museum fully while I'm here, but I did grab a few quick shots of some of the cars while I was walking past on the hiking trail.

A view out over the water.

Lobster catch!

The water was much clearer than I was expecting.

Lots of sea snail shells (say that three times really fast) on the beach.

In the distance is Fort Gorges. It's accessible by kayak to urban exploration type folks.

The inside of Gritty McDuff's brew pup.

Portland is home to this preserved piece of the Berlin wall.

View of the boats bringing in their daily catch from the back bar of Liquid Riot Brewery & Distillery.

Another beer flight, this time at Sebago Brewery.

In the evening one of my husband's coworkers took us to the two hidden speakeasies he had found; both hidden behind fake doorways.  Snagged a t-shirt from one - Lincolns.

Old beer gas gauges used as tap handles at the second speakeasy.

The bathroom at this speakeasy had photos of interiors of other club bathrooms, so I figured I had to perpetuate the trend.
