Another Day in Denver

I was able to work at the beautiful and historic Brown Palace hotel in Denver this afternoon. I was only able to take this one photo, but it's pretty enough to share.

Hiking, day 37: Antelope Trail

I picked the perfect time to go hiking at Hall Ranch in Lyons, CO today - long enough after the rain had stopped that the trail was in good shape, but early enough to enjoy the cool mist after a few long weeks of very hot weather here in Colorado.

Back out to Lyons, CO, today.

One of the first pictures of the day was this butterfly hanging out on a flower by the trail...

...and I couldn't believe it let me get this close! Probably one of my favorite hiking pics from this year.

Hiking, day 35: Sandstone Ranch

I didn't get many good photos of the view, as the air quality is pretty bad due to nearby forest fires, but there are some great flowers still blooming at Sandstone Ranch in Longmont, CO.

Hiking, day 34: Heil Valley Ranch

Even though I didn't get home from work until 5am, I managed to get a significant hike in back at one of my favorite local haunts in Lyons, CO.

Lots of flowers in bloom along the trail this month.

Finally, I stumbled upon this little guy (the small brown blob in the middle of the trail before the fence) about half a mile before the trail head.  He never figured out that he could have ducked into the grass at any moment, so I inadvertently chased him all the way down the mountain!

Hiking, day 33: Mapleton Hill

I spent the morning at the annual Mapleton Hill rummage sale in Boulder with one of my friends.  Lovely neighborhood!
