I had surgery awhile back but finally made it back out today. The weather hasn't been great, but it was nice to get off the couch again!

Hiking, day 36: Longmont Flour Mill

We hiked over to one of our favorite local breweries for a beer and dinner pairing, so we got a good look of the older downtown area that's just in the beginning of being transformed.

We're getting a pretty intense snow storm here on the Front Range, so I took a stroll around the neighborhood today and got this shot of the new art installation at Collyer Park.

This is a trail I don't do as much in Lyons, CO, but I decided to take a detour today for something different.

The trail is pretty overgrown currently in spots, but pushing past it is worth it.

Hiking, day 32: Hall Ranch

Got a good hike in today before wrapping up my few days off, and just in time, too: as I was descending I heard the emergency vehicles and saw the smoke from a new forest fire just north of Lyons and most of my usual hikes.

I'm headed back to a long run at work again, so I'll be hitting the trails again in mid-September. See you guys on the flip side!

Still enjoying the views from this Lyons, CO trail.

These plants had big beautiful flowers a few weeks ago, now they have some sort of fruit or seed pods. Not sure what they are, but they look neat!

Hiking, day 30: Bitterbrush Trail

I think it's been since last summer that I hit this particular trail - still one of the best in Lyons!

Lots more cacti than I remember...

...but still some good shady spots, too.

End of the Week

Just finished up my busiest work week of the year - now time for come cigars at our local cigar store. Love the murals surrounding the patio!

Hiking, day 28: Picture Rock Trail

My last day off before I go into a long string of work days, so I'm out on the trails in Lyons, CO one last time for a little while.

There are still some pretty flowers along the trail...

...but lots of berries are out now, too.

Had to cut the outing short when the storm clouds rolled in, but still had a good view of the valley today.

Walked over to a friend's house for the evening, to enjoy a last night out before my upcoming work week. Made a new four-legged friend while I was there!

Hit up a new-to-me trail in Broomfield in between work shifts today, the Lake Link Trail. Nice views of the mountain and the old coal beds.
