I was so happy to find this trail at Cedar Ridge Preserve in Dallas, TX. I knew moving from Colorado to Texas that I'd be hiking in some different terrains, but was pleasantly surprised to find a trail here with some significant elevation changes!
It's still been rainy in the DFW area, so I decided to check out another paved trail in the area. Today's hike was at the Walnut Creek Linear Trail in Mansfield, TX. This trail follows the creek fairly closely for some nice views, and the trees provide plenty of shade!
First day hiking in Texas! I stuck close to home for a quick hike in between bursts of rain showers. This is a small park and doesn't take long to traverse the trail out and back.
The smoke is getting increasingly worse in our part of Colorado. If you are going hiking, be sure to be mindful if you have any respiratory issues, and take plenty of extra water for your throat!
