Hiking, day 6: Queens Bath

I found directions online to a smaller beach that's a little off of the beaten path, so I headed out a bit earlier in the morning to Queens Bath.  This beach is a natural series of very quiet tide pools - so quiet that they're recommended for small kids, but let me tell you - if you get there early (like me) the snorkeling is great! Very clear water with no one else around.

To the north of the tide pools, there's a larger lava flow deposit, where the ocean crashes up against the rocks.  Amazing opportunity for shots!

(This is probably my favorite fish shot so far!)

After dinner we went snorkeling off of the beach right in front of our hotel.  The water wasn't quite as clear, but there were lots of fish hanging out!

Porcupine fish!

This is the recreation of an historical site in the bay in front of our hotel, view from the water.

Not entirely sure what this guy is. Sea slug? Sea cucumber?
